Between Two Worlds – Searching for the Uncanny

This short film is about two sisters’ search for each other in a parallel world. It showcases some of Kasia’s knitted and constructed costume pieces and tells a personal story about love, longing and loss.

The inspiration for this project came from Kasia’s Polish heritage with references to traditional folk, dance and craft and the mysterious worlds of film directors David Lynch and Andrei Tarkovsky. Working with the themes of uneasiness, uncanniness, twisted mystery and other-worldliness she playfully layers transparency and heavy texture to portray a sense of hidden space.
